How to Make 2011 Your Healthiest Year Ever

Take a few boxes of stuff you don’t use any more to the local charity. Many people could use it and by turning down your visual “noise”, it will help relieve your stress.

Be grateful

Start a gratitude journal and write down things you are grateful for regularly. This lifts your mood and makes you more aware of how blessed you are for simple pleasures. If any person shows you a kindness, make sure they know that they are appreciated by writing them a note or by telling them.

Cultures, Religion

Understanding Chinese Thought

One must study both Confucianism and Taoism to understand the general attitude of the Chinese people who lived before 1500 B.C.E. The origins of both religions began about the same time in history between 600 and 500 B.C. Confucius was born in a time of war and his father had been a soldier. He had grown up fatherless and poor, which probably propelled him into action towards establishing order in his world. In a political climate based on suspicion and distrust, he advocated trusting others and making yourself trustable. In a time of war, he was asking them to play fair, to be civil.

Bringing Epilespy Into the 21st Century

More than 50 million people worldwide suffer from epilepsy, yet erroneous beliefs about epilepsy are numerous. Murthy reported that in developing countries, patients with epilepsy encounter several significant barriers to adequate treatment and are more often managed according to local ethnic, racial, religious, economic, educational, and cultural diversities.

Volcanic Smog Affecting the Air in Hawaii

They are very fascinating to watch as the lava pours out of the vents and makes it way down the rocky slopes. I have traveled to the Volcano National Park and gone to the water’s edge to observe what happens when the lava meets the sea. At night it can be a very beautiful sight as the steam rises several feet into the air. We must be aware of the dangers also.

The sulfur dioxide that volcanoes emit mixes with other gases, sunlight dust and moisture to form vog.

Enjoy a Visit to the Honolulu Waikiki Aquarium

My favorite display by far was a tall wide glass round tube which held several beautiful jellyfish. Well aware of their dangerous potential, the jellyfish look quite innocent as they float with lacey ribbons trailing behind them.

There were blowfish, eels, squid, clownfish, seals and sharks. Literally, something for everyone. The glass displays are made of thick glass and are well kept and clean. I just love to see the various kinds of coral, all the beautiful colors and textures that they come in.

A Voice of Warning

To me that means many different things. We are daily bombarded by different “voices of warning” . The media is full of them – newspapers, TV talk shows, talk radio, financial, political and weather news.

To the latter-day saints, the Book of Mormon is a voice of warning to this generation. It warns us against pride, indifference, procrastination, the dangers of false traditions, hypocrisy, and unchastity. Moroni’s last words to the members of the Church are written as a voice of warning.

The Truth About Store Credit Cards

Consumer credit advisers warn that opening too many lines of credit may actually hurt your credit score. Having multiple credit cards also makes it more difficult to keep track of your balance due dates.

Experts suggest that if you sign up for store credit cards, you will probably face high interest rates if you fail to pay your bill in full by the deadline.
